The Joseph I. Maguire, MD Retina Research Fund at Wills Eye Hospital has been established in tribute to Dr. Maguire by his friends and colleagues on the Retina Service. This fund, part of the Retinal Degeneration Center at Wills Eye, will support exciting evolutions in the treatment of a wide variety of devastating retinal degenerative diseases under the direction of the Larry Donoso, MD, PhD Endowed Chair in Retina. The Retinal Degeneration Center was established to coordinate efforts to advance science and inspire breakthroughs in the discovery of innovative retinal disease treatments, including gene therapy and stem cell therapy.
