Dr. Uhr graduated from Cornell University and completed his medical school training at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. After a transitional year at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York, Dr. Uhr went on to complete his ophthalmology residency at Wills Eye Hospital, followed by a surgical fellowship at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute at University of Miami. While in his fellowship, he served as an instructor in ophthalmology at University of Miami Health, Bruce W. Carter Department of Veteran Affairs Medical Center, and Jackson Health System.
Dr. Uhr has authored over 50 publications and textbook chapters on vitreoretinal diseases. He has presented his abstracts at conferences across the country and has been awarded several honors for his research. Dr. Uhr is a member of various ophthalmic societies including the Vit-Buckle Society, the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology, American Academy of Ophthalmology, and American Society of Retina Specialists.
Dr. Uhr is passionate about serving his community and is currently a mentor in the American Society of Retina Specialists Underrepresented in Retina program.
Dr. Uhr remains active in academic research and medical education. First and foremost, he is devoted to providing world-class medical and surgical care to his patients.
