Q: You’ve been with Mid Atlantic Retina since 2016, how has it been making Philadelphia home permanently?
A: My and wife and I are native East Coasters (I’m from Connecticut and Samantha, my wife, from Northern NJ), so we love being “home” again. Philadelphia is a great city with lots of attractions – great restaurants, festivals, and things to do on the weekends. We are also now Philly sports fans – Let’s Go 76ers!
Q: What motivated you to become an Ophthalmologist?
A: There were many physicians in my family, and growing up I was always inspired by their dedication to the practice of medicine and patient care. In medical school I had the chance to learn more about the field of ophthalmology, and I loved the balance of clinical practice and surgery.
Q: You were recently inducted into the Retina Society, how does that feel?
A: I would like to thank Drs. Allen Ho and Carl Regillo for encouraging me to apply, and Drs. Julia Haller of Wills Eye and Steve Schwartz Stein Eye Institute for sponsoring my application. I’m very honored to be part of such a prestigious group of physicians (and inaugurated with many contemporary members of our practice), and hope to contribute to the society’s legacy in the future.
Q: Now that you will be seeing patients in Delaware, are you excited to go to a new office and meet new patients?
A: I am looking forward to seeing patients in Delaware and being able to provide them with the top quality care that Mid Atlantic Retina/Wills Eye is known for. Our office staff and technicians make practicing in any of our locations incredibly seamless, and I know that our team will work well together to deliver the best outcomes for even the most challenging retinal conditions.
